MQB Partners is a global healthtech investment management firm. Our team originates, invests and manages healthtech investments globally for our clients. Our firm is founded by successful entrepreneurs and investors from the healthcare and technology sectors with an impressive track record of success in investment and execution.

Our Team

Our team are active and successful investors in the health sector internationally. Our team
also has broad investment and asset management experience. The specialised healthcare expertise in our team spans the fields of gene therapy, molecular medicine, neuroscience, biochemistry, digital health, medical devices, biotechnology, surgery and the clinical practice of medicine.

Marko Bogoievski

Partner

Marko has extensive investment management experience. In his time as CEO of Infratil and Infrastructure Investment Manager H.R.L. Morrison &; Co., funds under management increased from $2.1b to $25b. Marko’s career spans finance, sales and investment management in New Zealand, Australia and the United States, with roles within financial services, FMCG, start-up, corporate, and private equity firms. Marko also holds several public company governance roles. He has a BCA from Victoria University and MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant.

Caroline Quay

Managing Partner

Caroline is a highly experienced healthtech investor. She has led investments into an impressive portfolio of innovative healthtech companies covering medical devices, digital health, drug/biologic product development and diagnostics. Caroline also has more than 20 years’ of strategic and operational experience with innovative high growth public and private healthtech companies. Caroline was Global General Counsel of Fisher &; Paykel Healthcare (FPH:ASX; NZX) and a founding executive of a medical device/therapeutic company, Aroa
Biosurgery, which successfully listed on the ASX in 2020 (ARX: ASX).

Caroline started out her career as a mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture investments lawyer. Caroline was the recipient of the EY/ NZ Asian Leaders’ Scholarship for the EY Darden Programme in 2015 (University of Virginia Darden School of Business). Caroline was also a recipient of the SBC Warburg (now UBS) Scholarship in Finance. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours and Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Auckland.

Dr Scott McPhee

Partner

Scott is a serial entrepreneurial scientist with over 20 years’ experience in the development
of novel medicines. He was part of the executive leadership (VP Clinical Development) at Asklepios BioPharmaceutical Inc. (acquired by Bayer in 2020). Scott was also co-founder of
Chatham Therapeutics developing novel treatments for hemophilia A&B (acquired by Baxter Healthcare) and part of the founding team at Bamboo Therapeutics acquired by Pfizer. Scott has been involved in commercialising novel technologies and licensing to leading pharma companies including Takeda (formerly Baxter Healthcare), Merck, GSK and Pfizer. Scott has
a Doctorate degree in Molecular Medicine from the University of Auckland and a Masters degree in Public Health from Harvard University.

Dr Ken Chin

Partner

Ken is a medical doctor with over 20 years’ experience and co-founder/owner of various
healthcare services and healthcare consultancy businesses. He was a General
Practitioner/owner in a large medical practice which was acquired by a healthcare provider in 2022. He is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners
(FRNZCGP). Ken has been a consultant providing clinical insight in the assessment of early stage healthcare investments and strategic advice to healthcare businesses since 2016. In his early career, Ken was involved in medical research in Endocrinology and in Urology. He has several research publications in medical sciences. Ken holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and Bachelor of Human Biology (BHB) from the University of Auckland. He also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Travel Medicine from the University of Otago.
